Cryptex

The paper used for this project is KOKUYO heavyweight paper, 0.215mm thick.

Fast-drying wood glue is easy to handle for adhesion.

Create a cylinder with A-03 and A-04.

Make a donut shape with A-05.

A-02. Don't forget to make the cuts and holes.

Wrap A-02 around the cylinder and place the donut over it. Do not glue yet.

Glue A-01 to both sides of the donut.

Wrap A-06 around the donut and glue it. Glue the cylinder and A-02 (which were temporarily assembled) ensuring there are no gaps. Adjust the position so the donut's triangle is at the center of A-02's groove, then glue.

Create a cylinder with B-04 and B-05, and a donut with B-07 (image omitted).

Make a slit in B-03 and slightly widen the hole with a toothpick tip (this will be the insertion point).

Temporarily assemble the parts, similar to the keyhole assembly.

Glue B-01 to the side of the donut.

Make a donut with B-06.

Align the star mark on the donut with the white part of B-02 and glue them together.

Cut out the star-marked block and the white part.

Glue the donut from STEP 8 to the side of the assembly from STEP 7.

B-08. Glue the triangular parts together to form an "A" shape.

Insert it into B-03. Fold the legs on the back and glue them down.

Start by gluing from the cylinder.

Adjust the position so that the "eaten" part of the outer donut aligns with the center of the groove in B-03.

Adjust the position of B-09 so that the center of its triangle aligns with the extension of the "A" row, then glue.

Create a cylinder with C-07 and C-08.

(Keep this cylinder, as it will be used later after creating the rings.)

Make a donut with C-01 and place it over the cylinder. Do not glue.

Adjust so the donut's triangle mark aligns with the notch in C-03 and glue one side only.

Do not apply glue to the block with the triangle mark.

Once the glue has set, remove it from the cylinder.

Cut off only the block with the triangle mark from the donut.

Place the donut back on the cylinder and glue C-03 to the other side in the same manner.

Remove the donut from the cylinder and glue C-02 to the inside.

Insert C-05 into C-06 and glue.

Align the notched part of the gear with the notched part of D-10.

Fold the legs of D-03 on the back and glue them down.

Make a donut with D-02.

Place the donut on the cylinder (do not glue) and glue D-08 to the side.

Align the triangle mark on D-02 with the notch in D-08.

Remove the donut from the cylinder and cut off the block with the triangle mark.

Place the donut back on the cylinder and glue the disk made in STEP 19 to the side of the donut.

Make sure the notched parts align.

Glue D-09 to the geared edge.

Once the glue has set, remove it from the cylinder and cut as shown in the photo.

D-01: Make a triangular prism.

Glue the prism according to the hatched frame.

D-04: Mountain and valley folds

Glue the ends together to form a ring with the tabs facing outward.

Pack it into the alphabet ring (do not glue yet).

Adjust so that the 26 tabs are evenly spaced at the center of the alphabet.

Fine-tune the position so that the alphabet letters "A" and "N" are aligned with the triangular prism.

Once the position is set, glue D-07 to fix it.

Once it's firmly set, remove it from the base and glue, being careful not to shift its position due to rotation.

Position the letter you want for your password at the notched part of the ring.

In the photo, "A" becomes the password.

Please make four more of these dials.

Place the password-set dials over the keyhole.

The password in the photo is "APPLE".

Do not glue the rivets.

Insert the key to complete.

Turn the alphabet dials like a combination lock to lock it.

To unlock, align the password letters with the triangle and pull the key.
